Congratulations to the New England Patriots (AFC Champions) and the New York Giants (NFC Champions). So Super Bowl XLVI in Indianapolis on February 5 will be a rematch of Superbowl XLII, which the Giants won 17-14. The Patriots remain on top of the NFL ratings after their 23-20 win over the Ravens, who fell one place to sixth. The Giants moved up two places to fifth after their overtime 20-17 away win over the 49ers, who dropped three places to fourth.
Sweden moved back into the top ten of the International Soccer ratings, up one place to tenth, after their 2-0 win over 78th-ranked Bahrain in Dubai. Most of the action in the ratings over the last two weeks though was as a result of the African Nations Cup. The biggest gains were made by Equatorial Guinea (up 19 places to 113th), Angola (up 17 to 68th), and Lebanon (up 14 to 109th). The biggest falls were made by Senegal (down 13 places to 51st), Iraq (down 12 to 63rd), and Libya (down 12 to 90th). Brazil remain on top of the ratings.
South Africa's 3-2 home ODI series win over Sri Lanka had little effect on the International Cricket (ODI) ratings, where South Africa remain fourth and Sri Lanka fifth. Australia are still on top of the ratings.
Australia moved up two places to second in the latest International Cricket (Test) ratings, after taking a 2-0 home test series lead over India, who slipped two places to fourth. South Africa's 2-1 home test series win over Sri Lanka had little effect, with South Africa remaining third and Sri Lanka sixth. England contine to hold the top spot in the ratings.
Congratulations to Hong Kong on winning the Emirates Cup of Nations in Dubai. They move up eight places to 25th in the latest International Rugby ratings. Runners-up Kenya fell one place to 33rd, while hosts the United Arab Emirates fell three places to 50th after losing all three of their games. New Zealand remain No. 1 in the ratings.
