James began his career in the construction field 23 years ago as a Carpenter with C.C.L. He has since worked in all facets of building - specialising in Architectural Housing and Education Projects. James became a Director at Image in 2003 and undertakes the role of Managing Director of the IMAGE companies and also of Project Director of the company's challenging projects.
James is an active member of the NZ Institute of Building and has been recognised with Chartered Building Professional status. He holds a Site 3 licence (Department of Building and Housing) in Building Management. He has memberships with NZ Master Builders and NZ Certified Builders.
When not at work James enjoys spending time with his family, He is married to Sally and has 4 children. He coaches junior rugby and cricket at the local club. He has a strong love of music and spends many hours listening all types of music and playing the guitar.
Graeme who is a Member of the NZ Institute of Quantity Surveyors (MNZIQS), he commenced employment as a Quantity Surveyor with Fletcher Construction in 1979. After a 2 year period overseas Graeme returned to NZ and became a founding partner of Image in 1992.
Since then Graeme's involvement with Image has been as both a Company Director and in-house Quantity Surveyor.
Some distinguishing attributes related to Graeme Hartnell include: incurable romantic, eternal optimist and long-time fan of Charles Bukowski.
